Auditions
Membership of Starmaker Theatre Company is limited to just 90 individuals. This allows us to ensure that each individual has plenty of performance opportunities, and also enables the management committee to ensure that each individual is developed to their full potential.
Company auditions are usually held twice a year; however this is always dependent on the number of places we have available.
Starmaker rehearse at Blessed Hugh Faringdon School, Fawley Road, Reading. Company night is Wednesdays from 7.30 – 10.15 when all members attend. Further rehearsals take place Friday 7.30 – 10.00, and Sundays from 10.30 – 1.00 & 1.30 – 4.00. Attendance at these additional rehearsals will depend upon: Your part in the show we are currently rehearsing (i.e. Principal or Chorus), and how close to the show we are.
At the auditions we look at three areas of performance: Dance, Drama & Singing.

7.30 pm – 9.30 pm
Pre – Audition Singing & Acting Workshop (Mandatory) –Wednesday 1st February, 2012

All workshops and auditions will be held at Blessed Hugh Faringdon School, Fawley Road, Reading
It is a pre-requisite that to attend the auditions, you must attend both pre-audition workshops. The reason for this is two-fold:
1) It will give you a chance to experience the Starmaker environment prior to auditioning, to help you decide if Starmaker is for you
2) We will be giving you solid advice on how to perform at your best at the auditions, and we will also be teaching you the audition dance.
We have several shows coming up in the next few months including our very special 100th Show. We are therefore looking for new members aged 10 and over. (10 year olds must be in their final year of primary school).
When attending both the workshops and the auditions, you need to wear clothes that you can move in (Tracksuit bottoms and T-Shirt are ideal, absolutely no Jeans), if you have them you should wear jazz shoes / boots (absolutely no trainers)
Once you have attended the audition workshops, you will then need to confirm whether or not you will be attending the auditions

Please be aware that Starmaker meets in Reading, Berkshire, U.K up to 4 times a week.(evenings and weekends) so if you live outside of the local area, you may find it difficult to join our Company.
