Auditions
Membership of Starmaker Theatre Company is limited to just 90 individuals. This allows us to ensure that each individual has plenty of performance opportunities, and also enables the management committee to ensure that each individual is developed to their full potential.
Company auditions are usually held twice a year; however this is always dependent on the number of places we have available.
Starmaker rehearse at Blessed Hugh Faringdon School, Fawley Road, Reading. Company night is Wednesdays from 7.30 – 10.15 when all members attend. Further rehearsals take place Friday 7.30 – 10.00, and Sundays from 10.30 – 1.00 & 1.30 – 4.00. Attendance at these additional rehearsals will depend upon: Your part in the show we are currently rehearsing (i.e. Principal or Chorus), and how close to the show we are.
At the auditions we look at three areas of performance: Dance, Drama & Singing.
Prior to the auditions we run two pre-audition workshops. These are to help the interested parties prepare for the auditions, and also to give them a flavour of what Starmaker is like.

For those aged 13 & under on 31/7/2010:
Pre – Audition Workshop 1 (Mandatory) – Wednesday 28th April (evening)
Pre – Audition Workshop 2 (Mandatory) – Wednesday 5th May (evening)
Auditions – Friday 7th May (evening)
For those aged 14 & over on 31/7/2010:
Pre – Audition Workshop 1 (Mandatory) – Wednesday 30th June (evening)
Pre – Audition Workshop 2 (Mandatory) – Wednesday 7th July (evening)
Auditions - Sunday 11th July (morning)

Youngsters do not have to excel in all three areas, as at Starmaker it is not just talent which gains places, personality and commitment are of equal importance to us.
We only audition children aged 10 and above. – Please note that 10 year olds MUST be in their final year of primary school
Please be aware that Starmaker meets in Reading, Berkshire, U.K up to 4 times a week.(evenings and weekends) so if you live outside of the local area, you may find it difficult to join our Company.
