POSSE is the Parents Of Starmaker Social Executive, and was conceived as a way of involving the whole family in the social side of Starmaker. Starmaker isn’t just for the children, and many long term friendships have been formed between families who have attended, which have gone on to blossom long after the young performers have left to go onto further things.
With any club or organisation, it can be very daunting when you or your children first join, so the POSSE strives to organize as many fun events throughout the year, to give as much opportunity for families to get to meet each other and socialise. As Starmaker relies so heavily on the help and support of parents both for rehearsals and theatre shows, bringing parents together socially also means that they gain a better understanding of how Starmaker works, and also how rewarding it is to give a little bit back by helping out, no matter how small a contribution.
The POSSE is responsible for co-ordinating events such as the Summer BBQ, Christmas Party, Quiz Nights and the After Show Parties, which all go towards helping make Starmaker the very special place that it is.
